    I do a monthly News letter that I sent out to the RP and community. This assist me a lot of time in getting new Volenteers.

    How do you keep them on track. My dementia patients can barely remember from moment to moment how to daily task.

    I have found expecially on my partys I build it up as much as possiable and make it loud as much as i can. I play loud music and build the party up as much as possiable.

I am the only Activity Staff

    Ok what I do is design my calendar in a legal size format you can use what they provide in this web site or even you own- save the document on a disk and take it to al local Office Max you can have them print out a color 2ft x 3ft calendar and then you can decorate around it.

    If you have Microsoft word they have a on line clip art that you can go to right click on the pic you want and paste it anywhere.

    In my facility I am only supposed to stop if a light is on and get the right person for the job- unless you are certified you personally can get in trouble if you accidently hurt someone.

    I made up fake money (called it Crazy Currency) I use that instead of real money and they can use it at the Country store for things we sell and give out as prizes. Rebekah

    I would call your local VFW and see if they can do a flag Ceremony or something like that. Rebekah

    Yes, we give gifts- The Resident need practical things like Socks, pretty hair brushes or even makeup. But they don’t get the impractical thing like ball caps, cool t-shirts, trinkets, or jewelry. The things the used to have when they live at home. I am working on having each one of my patients adopted by a local church or organization.
