StacieO 0 Report Share Posted June 6, 2005 Help! We are a 57 bed, snf, attached to a hospital. We currently have about 9 open beds :-( , the most we've had in the 10 years that I've been here. Today, I received a message from a nurse at our hospital on behalf of a patient & her daughter. They are wondering if "mom" could come to our facility a few times a week for activities after she is discharged to home. So - since we currently do not have Adult Day Care services, I went to my admin, who told me to "come up with some numbers." I'm turning to you out there, across the country, because this is new & unchartered territory for me. What I'm looking for is: how much do adult day care's charge? what types of services are offered? Anyother helpful comments or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I do have a couple of places that I've left message for the director's to call back, but any other input would be great. I would like to do this right, & not half-a#$ed! Thanks in advance for your help. Stacie O.

lydiajane 0 Report Share Posted June 7, 2005 I work in an adult day care as activity specialist. I am new to the job- so I dont know much about the state regs. We charge 45$ a day and the partici[pants are encouraged to come at least twice a week to establish a routine. Most of the participants are advanced alzehimers- we play games and do sing alongs. Although I am trying to make the unit more active by doing sensory activities and work on their motor skills. not sure if this helped... maybe some of it did. lllucas 0 Report Share Posted June 7, 2005 Dear StacieO, :-) Here is a resource that will help you a lot. It is to a page on The Activity Director's Office website. Here you can download a survey and its key findings regarding Adult Day Care Centers throughout the United States. It is in PDF format and requires Adobe Acrobat Reader. The survey was funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) in 2002. It contains facts, figures, and needs assessment on a county by county basis across the nation. There is a page that compares services provided and comparative costs. Hope this helps you, ;-) Linda http://www.theactivitydirectorsoffice.com/RWJF.html

hpt0413 0 Report Share Posted April 12, 2010 The cost of adult day care depends on the services offered. In my area daily fees range anywhere from $40-80 per day. Again, the services offered differ from facility to facility. I work in a facility that has a RN, LPN, CNA, contracted social workers, Activitiy director and assistant, and a dietary consultant on staff. We offer a wide range of activities to our participants. Wii, music, card, community service project, pet therapy and memory enhancememtn programs. Adult Day Care is a wonderful concept. Every center that I have toured has a different speciality about it. LisaD 1 Report Share Posted June 14, 2018 Hi StaceyO! It's nice that your client liked the facility enough to want to come back! I work in a 66 bed SNF attached to a large IL facility. We also have a social day center as part of our campus (no skilled nursing or CNAs) that I have worked extensively at but now work at one day a week. Primarily we serve memory care participants (over 62 years of age) but they're all at different stages in their dementia. Because we are part of our larger facility we are able to offer a lunch which is brought up to us from our SNF kitchen--residents order what they want from each day's menu when they get to us in the morning--it's the same menu our SNF have. The food is pretty good. I tell you that because we have three pricing options: 1/2 day with lunch (4 hrs or less) 1/2 day without lunch & full day. There are two price categories: residents of our community and those who come from outside the community. Outsiders pay 62.50 for a full day (more than 4 hours) which includes lunch there is no option for full day w/o lunch. 1/2 day with lunch is 42.50 and without is 32.50. I hope that helps! I'm happy to answer any questions you have.as I've had alot of experience in our day center. Good luck with your exciting new venture!
