Pennie 26 Report Share Posted April 26, 2011 May 8-14, 2011 Theme: Fulfilling the Promise NNHW spotlights nursing home residents and staff and encourages all to celebrate those that make a positive difference in their lives every day. A supportive and caring environment, such as a nursing home, provides enrichment for residents and families to continue growing, learning and teaching through various ways. The week also provides an opportunity to honor all those who contribute to our nation’s nursing homes – residents, family members, employees and volunteers. cindytexan 1 Report Share Posted April 27, 2011 I was told by my New Administrator not to do anything for Nursing home Week. In the past I have done something special for every day of the week, ending with a party for Residents & Staff. He says we really don't need to remind the Residents that they are in a Nursing home all of the time. He wants me to spend the money for Mother's day instead. LisaRee 0 Report Share Posted April 29, 2011 As for us, I don't always go by the theme each year...it's more fun to make up my own. This year I'm thinking I'll go with "Memories...Old and New" Monday we'll have Wheelchair Olympics for staff and residents. Tuesday we're having a pajama party, Wednesday's still undecided (ha), Thursday, a mock wedding. (Have a male staff member dress as the bride, a female dressed as the groom), then our usual talent contest on Friday. Just one week full of fun!
