Guest Guest Report Share Posted August 15, 2006 Hi there, Can anyone help me. I am looking for a way to make our monthly calendars larger. Letter size is hard for them to read. I am looking for a template or program that I can use regularly to make larger calendars
Stacy 0 Report Share Posted August 15, 2006 I use microsoft publisher. I print my monthly calendars 11x17. Then I will also enlarge in to 46x34 to put on the big bulletin board. It prints out on several pieces of paper and then we put it together. You can also go to kinko's to and enlarge it. I like to have it in color, and for me it costs to much to print it up at kinko's. However, what program do you use now. May programs have a feature that you can change the paper size in your properties setting when the print screen enlarges. Hope this helps Stacy
Guest Vickie Boatright Report Share Posted August 16, 2006 Hi there, Can anyone help me. I am looking for a way to make our monthly calendars larger. Letter size is hard for them to read. I am looking for a template or program that I can use regularly to make larger calendars You can make your activity's calendar from the Activity Connection program & take it to your copier & make it bigger. I make my calendars a legal size then I stretch them to 11x17 size to put in each room. They are of course not in color.
Guest Guest Report Share Posted August 16, 2006 Hi, This site has 4 different calendars that you can use to make your monthly calendars & newsletters plu slot more on the members.activitydirector.com' The cals are letter size, what I use to do was take my monthly calendar to our Xerox machine & blow it up to 11x17. You can buy the 11x17 paper from any office supply store. This is the cheapest way to go on these calendars. I used these fo rthe res. rooms Then I would take a copy of the calendar to Kinko's & hav ethem blow the calendar up about the size of a poster. I had 1 made for every bulltein board in the facility. So it would depend on the size of your bulltein board as to what your expense would be at Kinko's.
lllucas 0 Report Share Posted August 17, 2006 Hi, Everybody! :-) RE: Making 11x17 (tabloid size) calendars. Most copiers will allow you to run this size paper. Often you must hand feed it into the copier. If you are lucky your copier will have a feed tray. Tabloid size paper is available at Office Max and Staples, and comes in a variety of colors. Also, it is easy to enlarge your calendar from 8 1/2 x 11 to 11 x 17 by choosing a setting on the copier. Best Wishes, ;-) Linda Lucas, AD http://www.theactivitydirectorsoffice.com
Mandyatscr 0 Report Share Posted August 17, 2006 Im lucky as my printer in my office will print off an 11x17 calendar. I have a template that I use month after month and would be willing to send it to anyone who would need one. I then take the orginal to our copier and make the 100 copies we need. I then take it to Kinkos and blow it up to fit our big calendar holders. Its about 10 dollars for the two that I Make.

khancock 0 Report Share Posted September 13, 2006 I also do my calendar on publisher, with a template that was created by my executive secretary. I just go through and change the info. each month, then I copy it to 11x17 size, fold it in half and include it with my monthly newsletter. The healthcare residents, I tape one to each of their closets whether they can read it or not, for family/visitor access to what's going on. I don't have an area to put one large calendar for display, so I post the 11x17 calendar on each units bulletin boards for staff to refer too, as well as give one to each director to place in their offices. I can't help you too much with the computer part of things, I'm not very savvy with it.

Hope 0 Report Share Posted September 26, 2007 I actually make my calendars and newsletters at home, using my Printmaster program; (Word tends to get quirky about changing the size of the squares and messing up the page) simply because I can think better there, and don't have Internet access at work. I then put in on a thumb drive and bring that in to our activity computer, which is an old computer from when our company switched to new ones, but is no longer on the system, no security problems that way. I had an older version of my Printmaster loaded on it so I can continue to add as needed. I can print it on 8x11, on a cheap printer hooked up, then take it to our copier and enlarge to 11x17 for the individual room calendars on their wall bulletin board. That is highlighted for each person's preferences for staff and for state's requirement; however, those who read are given a second copy, same size, to keep with them-too hard to read on the wall. The 8x11 size is included in the monthly newsletter. Our 2 hall calendars are actually amazingly nice - it's a grid that holds an 8x11 page for each day-those I just print out by page, make 2 copies and tack them up. QTPitootyFL 0 Report Share Posted January 7, 2008 Well, I guess I am a late entry on this one, but I use the centerfold of A New Day magazine for my calendar, which is already 11 x 17. I too can make 300 of those at work (for a 170 bed facility) and then I go to Kinko's for my oversized copies- 1 that is 300% of the original and 3 that are 250%. I make the copes myself (cheaper, let them show you how) and I also have an educator savings/discount card that I signed up for on-line. My calendars run me approx $20.00 a month. A New Day usually has pretty graphics along the side/top so on the last day of the previous month I have a group of ladies who are "good colorers" help me by coloring the pictures with marker. The calendars with the colored construction paper on the bulletin board comes out looking quite nice, if I must say so myself, LOL. Hope this helps. January08 0 Report Share Posted April 23, 2008 Hi, We post a large calendar in the hall wall where everyone and also residents can read. We bring it to Kinko's for enlargement. It is really difficult to read those calendars in resident's rooms but maybe you'll just have to prepare a daily activity schedule to be distributed everyday. We announce it also in the overhead everyday. I hope these recommendations would help if you haven't done them yet. Hi there, Can anyone help me. spartans 0 Report Share Posted May 22, 2008 (edited) My calenda ris 11x17. My template comes from this activity web site. Upon completing calendar, I enlarge the11x17 calendar for one gentleman. His daughter had gone to the library to do this one month and I picked up the idea from there. It is good customer service. If someone has difficulty seeing the calendar posted on the wall, I hand them a calendar to keep at their bedside. Good Luck Edited May 22, 2008 by spartans

I am looking for a template or program that I can use regularly to make larger calendars I use microsoft publisher and it hasn't let me down yet. You can easily choose your paper size and save it to send to a copy store or send it directly to your copier. It also has very professional looking pictures in the clipart that save you the money of using other online sources like activity connection that charge to make a calendar.
