  1. I am in ohio, and a co worker told me that we do not need mepap classes if our facility is small? Has anyone ever heard of this? I have completed my mepap classes.
  2. Could you email me the copy of your activity participaton sheet that you do on excel? Thanks Stasia sulmer@millcreek-care.net
  3. Outings have been limited at our two facilities due to the cuts. Our van is now used for transporting residents to doctors appointments. It is hard to plan an activity outing for two buildings. I post on my activity calendar: Outings are subject to change d/t inclement weather or appointments. One thing we did last month was get a menu from a resturaunt and order the food to be delivered to the facility instead of going out for lunch. More people could participate.
  4. Hi I am working at a person centered care facility. Does anyone else work at one? I think we were PCC facilities before the term came up. I am wondering if anyone has been in a survey at a person center care facilty? Has anyone written I plans and if so, can you tell me about them. Thanks, Stasia
  5. If we use another van within the corporate, we are required to have a cdl. we have hired a part time person for this position. He assists with floors as well. Appointments are made by family and social services. They are responsible for the transportation. I do shopping for a resident.
  6. In our rural area , we got a 4 star rating for two counties. One facility in each county got a 5 star rating. A neighboring county facility received 1 star only. I wonder what this is based on. IS it what residents say, families, or department of health.
  7. I am interested in knowing if you celebrate trick or treat in your facility? Town childern to not visit on trick or treat day. We have a preschool class visit us for treats. The youngsters do finger poems and sing as well. The residents like to see the children's costumes.
  8. Do what you do at work everyday and you will be fine. Focus on residents who have triggered little or no participation in your raps. Remember to ask for 2 forms of Identification. Follow the plan of care. Good luck, I am sure that you will do well.

  10. Hi, I did resident of the month at one time. I included favotie activities: birthplace, favorite food, month and day they were born, advice to the younger generation, favorite color. I asked the family to bring in photos of the residents to display. Residents took pride in being on the bulletin board.
  11. Are you involved if family care plan meetings? What do you report on? Sometimes they skip over me, but I still talk with families 1:1
