phxville 0 Report Share Posted October 26, 2005 Hey All, I remember reading somewhere a bunch of suggestions on what are the best resorces available for creative activity suggestions BUT I can't remember where I read it. Could someone either point me to the right discussion or let me know what you think here. My Creative Forecasting Subscription is over in December and I am ready for a change perferable something on the computer. I think there was one website someone talked about that sounded perfect. This website has been an amazing resource for me, thank you all for ALL of your help and input. AD's Rock!!! Pxville

indysky3 0 Report Share Posted October 31, 2005 I have not used the Creative Forecasting, have recieved free copies at different conferences and they seem ok. I use New Day and the internet subscription site www.activityconnection.com. Have subscribe since they started charging. Lots of information and already done for you to just copy things from the site. Just love the site! I did check out the site listed above and it is pretty good also. Also love this site. Lots of great ideas and suggestions from fellow activity professionals. I keep an open mind and think of different ways to use things. I use alot of craft book originally for school students and adapt. Quick and easy. Hope you find new ideas. Have fun and a great day! Guest Kate AA Report Share Posted October 31, 2005 I used to get all of those magazines, but they just didn't meet the needs of my residents. And it was the same stuff over and over. We use the internet a lot!!! I mean for all of our activities, including Bingo! We have found FREE resources for every program that we can think of. We even got an idea for a "Hunting" program that we learned about in an Activities Chat Room. There are so many teachers resources and craft ideas and holiday information and armchair travel opportunities as well as daily celebrations that the internet is the only thing that we really use. All of our magazines are gathering DUST!
indysky3 0 Report Share Posted November 3, 2005 Sorry to hear you are not using the magazines. I use alot of the worksheets and triva in the book, along with calendar information. I also use the internet alot, and teacher resources. My program is hospital based, a swingbed program as it is called. I have all ages and the rest of the hospital patients are all ages so alot of the information in the books is easily used and easy to copy. Do you have an adult day care center in your area that maybe could use the books? Thanks for the ideas. sharon
