Guest Guest_woorlynn Report Share Posted September 14, 2005 as the AD of skilled nursing facility, I had just recently been told by DON and NHA that I no longer need to attend care plan meetings. who really NEEDS to be in those meetings. I thought act. was part of the IDC team and what are the regs. Any comments would be great! THANKS!!
Guest KAteAA Report Share Posted September 14, 2005 WOOOOO HOOOO!!! I would make a point to review the care plans and make sure that actiities has a care plan in place (rumors of the NEW Intrepretive guidelines for Activities FTag considered) and call it a day! We should be part of the team and I am sure that after your inspection that you will be invited back. BUT make sure that you have your documentation done. Ella 0 Report Share Posted September 14, 2005 I just went through some major cuts where I was unable to attend care conference with the I-Team because I had no staff and had to run my activities. After complaints from myself and other members of the team, I was given my staff back because it is very important that Activities is at care conference to discuss the residents with the rest of the team. You need the entire team there to discuss the resident so that you can care plan and provide the best services for the residents. Fight for what is best for the residents and that means YOU as part of the team!
hcornell 0 Report Share Posted September 15, 2005 The codes do not specifically state who has to be at care conference other than the attending physician and the nurse. Everyone else is a bonus I guess. I do not regularly attend unless there will be a family member or resident present.
Guest Guest_Angel Report Share Posted September 16, 2005 look over your careplanes carefullly!! I had a DON once who felt the need to place generic Activity plans in the Activity section of each residents chart and the care plane that I wrote out came up missing...so be carefull what you sign.
Ella 0 Report Share Posted September 19, 2005 I agree! Be careful about what you sign! I had an MDS Coordinator that wanted everyone on the I-Team to sign the attendance sheet whether they were at care conference or not! I refused! If I was not at care conference to discuss the resident, I would not sign! Don't take responsiblity for knowing what was discussed when you were not there! As for generic Care plans! WOW! That's like saying Generic Residents!
gfjones 0 Report Share Posted September 30, 2005 I am an AD at an LTC facility and I have to be there because everyone on the care plan team has imput for each resident. That imput is very important for the care plan because I might see something during an activity or one that my assistant does that the social worker needs to know or the nursing staff. I too would never sign a care plan that I personally didn't write.
