Guest Pat8231 Report Share Posted October 26, 2004 Hi all, I just got an email from a friend at an SNF where I worked 7 months ago. She said there is an opening for a Unit Secretary and I'm not sure if I should apply for it. The hours STINK!! 7am to 7pm Saturdays and Sundays. I want to get back into the field but this way? I'm a "former" AA and having a heck of a time finding a good AA position. Right now I've got a cushey job in a real estate office M to F 11am to 3pm. HELP!! Guest Guest_flgirl Report Share Posted October 28, 2004 Hi Pat, Yes I remember you. You used 2 words-stinks and cushy. You sound like you don't want those long hrs. There is no guarantee you will get the AA job if you take it. Good luck!!
Laree 0 Report Share Posted October 28, 2004 DON'T DO IT!!! You talked yourself out of it in your message...I hope! Wait until the right thing comes along! Good luck, Laree
Diana 0 Report Share Posted October 28, 2004 HEY PAT! GREAT TO HEAR FROM YOU! I HOPE YOU KEEP THE JOB YOU HAVE - SOUNDS LIKE YOU REALLY LIKE THE HOURS AND IT WORKS OUT WELL FOR YOU. TAKE IT EASY!
lllucas 0 Report Share Posted October 29, 2004 Hi, Pat :-) My advice? Keep your cushy job and forget about the stinky hours. If you want to keep your hand in activities, become a volunteer. That way you'll be close to the residents and be in a position to hear about AA openings in other places. :-D Lots of Luck in your pursuits, Linda Lucas, AD http://www.theactivitydirectorsoffice.com
Guest Pat8231 Report Share Posted October 29, 2004 Hi ALL, thanks for the input. I ran into another problem today!! The current job I have (RE office) is ending. They were bought out by a bigger company and taking over January 1st. But an offer was made to me to stay with the new company because the "boss" told them I"m a good employee and have excellent evaulations. I'm a jack of all trades when it come to office things. The old company is offering me a position because they are opening a new office in about 2 months or so. Talk about confusing! I have until Monday to come up with a yes or no to both companies. As for activities, after reading your responses I really did talk myselt out of going back to the SNF. As for volunteering, I go back to my old facility and sit with "my" ladies about every 4 to 6 weeks. Thanks again for your input. No e in cushy huh? lol.....
