Ekulin 0 Report Share Posted March 12, 2008 We are gearing up for National Nursing Home Week and I was wondering how many buildings stick with the annual theme- this year is "Love is Ageless"- I think, or how many just do their own thing??? Any new and different ideas would be welcomed as well!! Thanks!
jam296tigger 0 Report Share Posted March 15, 2008 Hi there, We normally have kept we the NNHW theme for the last few years. In the past we have done several different things. You could always ask the residents what they would like to do and if they would like to make their own theme. Our Home, all our interdisiplenary teams helps plan and provide activies for our residents. Good Luck Jam296tigger
bigchris 1 Report Share Posted March 19, 2008 Hola, Last yaer I came to a new facility and they wanted to incorporate something different for the week. SO we have each department actually heading up an event for each day with activities as the support for all of them. This way all of the finance is spread out and there is a variety of ideas. For instance, this year we are doing the following. A tropical social with fresh fruit and smooties A barbecue in the southern style A game day with each department sending specific teams- think survivor meets the decathalon a steak and egg breakfast A charity drive for the local homeless ministry Representing our beauty pageant winner at the state finals and a wacky tacky costume contest. Hope this helps. bigchris We are gearing up for National Nursing Home Week and I was wondering how many buildings stick with the annual theme- this year is "Love is Ageless"- I think, or how many just do their own thing??? smbellevue 0 Report Share Posted March 20, 2008 Hey! We PARTY! I've been the assistant since 2000, director since '05. I have flyers & posters several weeks before. I schedule "Dress up" days every day Monday through Saturday and music almost every day. The boss allows up to $50 per day for entertainment and dietary orders special treats. We even have a Talent show one night and the boss gives out cash prizes to the top 3 as voted on by the resident judges , who are elected by the residents' council!!! Have FUN!
