cathybee 0 Report Share Posted July 19, 2004 Just joined and wanted to say hi...name is cathy and work for The Lingenfelter Center in Kingman AZ. My mom is there and I can be close to her as I work. It makes its easier knowing I am there with her. Well need to get off and get ready for work. Its nice to a part of this group. Looking forward in learning my way around. gina 2 Report Share Posted July 19, 2004 Hi Cathybee! Finally someone from Arizona! :-) Yeah! I live in Calif. now and in a few weeks my husband and 5 kids are moving to Phoenix,Arizona. I am a little aprehensive :-? about the move because we dont really know anyone up there besides my husbands sisters.Anyway,how is the job market up in Arizona for Activity Directors? From what I can tell from going online is that there are a lot of retirement homes and Senior Communities. Please let me know. Pennie 26 Report Share Posted July 20, 2004 Hi Cathy, welcome to the board. I also worked at a facility that I had my grandmother in and another one that I had my father-in-law in. It had it pros and cons. One of the cons was that I couldn't go on my days off to visit because all of the res. thought I was there for them too. Also they didn't (my grandmother & father-in-law) why I couldn't be with them when I was there working (both had alzheimers). Glad to have join us.
