Guest adriana Report Share Posted October 5, 2006 Hi there from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan I am looking for ideas to making large games that can be used with residents to have alot of fun. I make a floor model of snakes and ladders and also horse racing which really is a hoot. I am a bandit for new ideas. What have you done? Also does anyone have a pattern to make a wheel of fortune game wheel? Please let me know at advand@sasktel.net. Blessings Adriana

Guest Guest_CHET Report Share Posted October 6, 2006 We play wheel of fortune on a marker board like hang man. I pick a topic like types of apples. My first word "crab". I put four blank lines on the board. Then I go around the room asking for letters. If the letters are not in the word, I put them a the bottom of the board. They are suppose to wait until their turn to guess, but usually they are too excited to wait. The residents love this game.
bigchris 1 Report Share Posted November 1, 2006 We have had a lot of success with Scene it games and PowerPoint. We have a projector so it works.
Jen 0 Report Share Posted November 3, 2006 Our residents love all types of physical & mental games. Some favorites include noodle ball with a balloon & pool noodles, musical Wheel of Fortune, which is played like hangman on a drey-erase board with music titles. After they've guessed correctly, I play the song & they usually sing-a-long while I put up the next puzzle. Make sure the songs are real familiar to them. We also play washers-this is a game I never heard of 'til moving to this area & it has been a huge favorite since their chilhoods, & Hillbilly golf, made from pvc pipe. If you would like more information on how to make these, e-mail me @ jlghouse@insightbb.com. Of course they also like horseshoes, bean bag, etc.
Guest cathyincayman Report Share Posted November 4, 2006 Hi, I'm an activity director at a time share resort in the Cayman Islands, I deal with tourists, various ages and size groups, one very successfull game I do is 20 questions without counting the questions, I think of a common object like a book or a well known person like Oprah and then we go around the room in order and the guests can ask me one question that I can only answer yes or no then they get a guess if they want, I review what we learn about the item/person often, it's lots of fun with all ages and requires no setup, if it gets too long I let anyone ask a question out of order, great when you have a few minutes down time. Anyone have any ideas they can share with me I really need some new stuff, cathyincayman@yahoo.com Thanks
