  1. My reply is too late for 2008, however for Father's Day we had a Beef and Beer brunch. The families were invited and we all had a good time eating and drinking our non-alcoholic beer. The reason for my post is to let you know that what the Dads and families liked best about the day were the Father's Day quotes that I read. I got the quotes from www.quotegarden.com/dad.day.html (I love the quote garden) Pam
  2. I work in a Memory Care unit and have found the best activities to be team games. No pressure on any one person. One of my favorites is a modified ring toss game. The standard ring toss game is too hard for most residents, but in this version even the lower functioning residents will occasionally get a ringer. I use large rings that I got from a dollar store. They are made to be used in a swimming pool and are large and very soft. No way anyone can get hurt. If you can't find these rings you can use a Frisbee with the center cut out. I seat the residents in a circle and split them into two teams. The teams take turns tossing the rings. I score 5 points for a ringer or a leaner, which keeps it simple to score and I found that if you give them twenty five points for the center the scoring becomes to uneven. Works for me!
