For mens activities you can have a weekly sports talk with a short film on a sport player for what sport he played in ie tiger woods, they realy enjoy when you can get other staff to help esp men. Also a wood work shop is also very good.

microsoft publisher is a good program it goes set by set with the set up of what you want.

Wanda what state are you in? You should not be worried that you may be pulled some has to be there to direct the programs on a daily bases. That's right don't do your work at home. Get some volunteers or contact your local school for teenager needing volunteer hous to graduate high school. The bad thing about activities there is no law mandating how many people schould be in activities like the cnas have. I'm a 120 bed facility I have two full time people and a 20hour postion available and me the director over the buliding. Just remember don,t give up things will get easier.

I'm a cna as well as the adc for my building. I don't have a problem helping with the resident if i am able to. quiting your job over that was not very professional. working on a meu is different from long ter care but it makes every ones job easier if every one can work as a team. that is what team work is helping each other out.

have you tried craft boxes. small plastic boxes for a project for your room bound? you can have a few with you for the to use instead of having a cart to keep up with the project is kept all together and safe and less likly of losing items.

try to grt the dietary dept involved in the special meal of the month as well having cake and ice cream. Better yet get all your dept heads to make a cover dish for them that would help. The resident with a birthday that month ask them what they would like to have for a meal write it down on a peace of paper and have each dept head make that dish. :-P

In my facility activities does deliver the mail to the resident but i also count it as a one on one if they don't come to group activities. this is ALSO A GOOD WAY TO RECALL THE PASS WITH A FEW OF THEM. however the reception desk does the fowarding of the mail of resident who are no longer at the facility.
