  1. Hey, An Irish Pub theme is always great. I've done it a few times. For fitness you could do an Irish Themed Fitness and incorporate interesting movements realted to St. Patty's Day. You could also serve gingerale at The Irish Pub and put two drops of green food colouring in each glass - it is not harmful and in turn you will have fake green beer to serve at the pub. For a Baking Program - cupcakes and decorate them with gold coins and green frosting. I have a ton of ideas and they are all adaptable to varying client levels, if you email me at JBean@ACTIVITYDIRECTOR.COM I can get your fax number and fax them to you. GinaFilice
  2. Hey, A really great idea may be to put your volunteer recognition certificates in empty wine bottles and cork the top and put some rop with a sea shell attached to it with their name on it. That would be cool and very inexpensive. GinaFilice
  3. What is the cognitive and physcial functioning level of your clients or residents? I have a gift for adapting any program to suit varying needs - and I have files and files of programs! Let me know! Gina Filice
  4. Can you believe that our agency has REFUSED to pay for our staff to have access to ActivityConnection! See, the problem is we are so understaffed! I myself, run my entire department on my own - that includes admin and front line - I can't survive without ActivityConnection! If anyone has any suggestions please, I need help! I will burn out before the end of next month! I guarantee! GinaFilice HELP!
  5. Hey, Welcome, nice to meet you! I will check out your website! Sounds interesting!
  6. Hey, I have 106 clients and I run everything in a day centre EPC program, first of all you need to get a membership to ActivityConnection - it is what has saved me because everything is already done for you - you just need to implement activities and adapt them where necessary. My agency had no money to hire me a program worker - I thought I was going to burn out after 3 months of working here. Once I got connected to ActivityConnection I have stopped taking client notes and assessments home with me. Also, you need to request that you ahve at least one full day in office to get admin stuff completed. Also, volunteers can be a great asset. Cheers! Gina
  7. Hey, I am so pleased to hear that there are many Canadians on the site! I just wasnt sure if there would be. The reason I thought this was because the AD community in Canada is not very good at Networking. Mind you there are a few small groups here and there but most of them fade out over time - and I have found in Toronto, such an urban city, that AD's are so closed off and are really not up for networking! That's why I have started up a Netwroking group in the Toronto Area, It has had great response! If anyone has started one up please respond and let me know if there is anything I should know, how you started, obstacles, etc. Thanks Gina
  8. Hey Everyone, I work in Toronto Canada as a Activity Director for Seniors in Community setting. I also have a fabulous network called TAP in Toronto (Toronto Activity Professionals). This web site has changed so much since last time I was on it! Anyway, I am looking to talk to whoever started this website cause I am thinking a satellite one in Canada may be a great option.
