Hello. My name is Robbin. I am new to the forum and working on getting certified. I am looking forward to using this as a tool to get and share ideas. Sometimes you just get a little brain dead on your creativity, but reading post will spark something.

I am getting ready to ad the horse racing to my facility in April since they love Bingo so much where I am I thought they would like betting on horses. I also had a recommendation from my resident counsel to start a Poker Group/Texas Hold-em Group. I would try asking some of your residents about what they would like to see and what they would like to get rid of. An idea that is sort of a sister idea to the Travel Club posted is a Pen Pals Club, but the group writes to other facilities and you keep a map with one color push pin of who you have sent letters to and one color push pin for who you have received a response from. The goal is to get a facility in every state to write you back.

We also have this at our facility. I was thinking of bringing out the cart and doing soft hand massage and also weaving projects may be good to give them something to do with their hands. We have residents who will pick little pieces of paper and things up off the floor and I thought this would be good to keep their hands busy. Putting some magazines and books in that area also may be good. Also maybe word searches or folding some wash clothes.

April is also Keep america Beautiful Month. I was looking to bring in a recycling bucket for the month for staff and residents.

I haven't gotten very far with my ideas, but I was thinking of kicking off the week with a balloon lift-off and ending the week with a ice cream social.
