MelanieLynn 0 Report Share Posted August 10, 2005 I was just wondering what other facilities room rates were for residents. I haven't been an AD for very long but it seems like ours are rather steep. we range anywhere from $58.50 to $91.50 a day. that does include meals, aide time, nurse time, laundry service, etc.
Guest KateAA Report Share Posted August 10, 2005 Our private room rate is $200.00 a day. Our Medicaid rate is around $118.00 a day. It includes all meals, medication, skilled nursing 24/7, activities services, a Registered Dietitcian available 5 days a week, Doctors visit once a month, clean linen and all housekeeping services 24/7, laundry services, banking services, someone to shop for them, three different clothing store services, snacks 3 times a day, free cable, free internet access, social services, financial planners, funeral planners, beauty and barber shop in your own home, religious services in your own home, pastoral care, Seasonal celebrations, free outings to community events, free entertainment, free utilities, free water services..... Take into account all the person would be paying for living on their own, including a gallon of gas costing 2.47 a gallon............Pretty good deal! A fancy hotel costs $200.00 a night and all you get a mint on your pillow.......So not a bad deal!!!!
Pennie 26 Report Share Posted August 13, 2005 Hi Is your facility must be private pay or you worked at AL fcaility? They are more expensive or not covered by Medicare/Medicade in some states. The key is that people must not a certain dollar amount prior to 5 years of entering a LTC facility. This is hard on lots of elders! I don't know the room rates but those on Medicare/Medicaid all of their money goes to the facility except for the $60 a month that the residents keeps. This does not sound like much but when almost everything is supplied for them it usually is enough, the only ones who have a problem with this amount are usually the smokers. If a res. accumlates a certain amount of money it must be spent, I have had to go & spend their money for them you would be surprised how hard this is to do.
