Guest Jac Report Share Posted June 5, 2005 I'm currently a Occupational Therapy Assistant student, and I was talking to a lady at a Wal-Mart about her job which interested me and she told me that she was an Activity Director at a local Nursing Home. I was just wondering if someone could answer some questions for me, I can't see to find much information on the web. I was wondering: a. The level of practioner in the field b. education requirements (clinicals?? if so how are they set up, areas studied) c. settings in which you work d. credentialing process (exams) ....just some general stuff, please help me if you could. Thanks
Pennie 26 Report Share Posted June 5, 2005 Hi Jac, the Activity Director regulations and certification requirements are listed on nccap.org, you can probably find out all the info that you need there. good luck, Pennie

Guest ErinE Report Share Posted June 9, 2005 I have gone to NCCAP's website and cannot find the state requirements. Can someone direct me to the location of this information?
lllucas 0 Report Share Posted June 9, 2005 Dear Folks, :-) It is difficult to find state requirements posted anywhere on the web. I suggest that you contact a local nursing home, tell them you are interested in the Activity Director field and that you would like a copy of their job description as well as state certification requirements. Always go to the source. Best wishes, ;-)
