Hi Laree,

This celebration has been around for some time now,but not very many people know about it or do anything for it.If you go to the AOA (Administration on Aging) website they will give 'ya lots of info and history about the celebration, also you can download this year's poster, its pretty nice.

As far as activities,I have just usually had an open house/ dinner for the community to come in and see what the facility is all about.

Check out the wesite:

I hope this helps!

Have fun! Gina ;-)

I broke down what I considered to be important factors in the lives of seniors to extend their lives and make them more fulfilling. The categories that I came up with are: Wellness, recreation, health matter’s, informative, mental and emotional wellbeing and mental alertness. So around these topics I have schedule a variety of activities to promote Healthy Long-term Living in seniors.

 Make-up

 Hair Styling

 Men’s Shaves (hopefully in old fashioned style)

May 9th – Brain Gain with Alice Jacobs – Brain Exercises

May 10th – Pet Therapy with Jacob Montana

May 10th – Chi Kung with Don Wahl (Chi Kung is stationary exercise and breathing exercise)

May 12th – Massages

May 13th – A Family Barbeque

May 17th – Tai Chi with Don Wahl

May 20th – The Chateau Marathon – Competitors will, at their own pace, see who can make it from the Chateau to the duck pond and back! Prizes given out for first, second, third and participation.

May 24th – Marathon Party to give out prizes.
