Volunteer Appreciation

We just finished our volunteer appreciation program and it was a huge success so I thought I would share it with yall. We invited the volunteers to a snowball party on the front porch. The residents decorated terracotta pots with ribbon, seashells, and paint. They inserted a package of thier favoriate flower seeds and made a card that said Thanks, you help us plant the seeds to success. One resident wrote a poem that she read and we played a fun trivia game. It was a blast.

Any ideas for next year?

We had our volunteer appreciation luncheon today. Each volunteer got a certificate of appreciation, a goodie bag with a key chain with a message I attached that said "you are the key to our success", a bath mitt that said "Thanks for lending a helping hand" and a flashlight/radio. We had sandwiches donated by Subway and carnations donated by a florist. Our clients made cheesecake cupcakes for dessert.

They all had a :-) time.

Hi, fresh from our volunteer appreciation evening tonite. It was a wonderful evening. We had 125 volunteers. residents made party favors of lifesavors with a label that said you are a life savor and scrolls that had the starfish poem and a plastic wine cup that was filled with party mix we all made. Very resident focused.

One of our residents is a wonderful poetry writer. She wrote a fantastic poem and included many of the jobs vols do and added some humor. All the residents sang a chorus tog while I played the guitar.

Our red hat ladys dressed in their hats and scarfs and took turns reading the verses of the poem when I am old I shall wear purple.

We picked one group to salute and 10 vols who began in the 1980's and read a bio on them. gave a plaque, certificate and rose.

We had 18 door prizes.

All the decorations had to do with sea shells. Candles, nets, colors of table clothes were all seashell themed.

The dietary dept went all out with hot and cold foods, and the finiest dessert table you ever seen.

It was a busy and tiresome day but a very rewarding day.

The party was 6:30 to 10. Man do my feet hurt lol

Gotta run, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Happy Spring

Linda

We also did Volunteers Plant the Seeds of Kindness. I programed the whole month a flower theme. The residents decorated pots and planted seeds for center pieces. I gave the volunteers seeds and a note pad with the slogan on it, as well as certificates. I bought silk flowers, and made some decorations with them. We made flower pens. The volunteers really appreciated it. Of course, they didn't want to accept anything because they are here out of the kindness of their heart. But, where would we be without them.
