AD from Canada.

Two years in this profession. Actually took Kinesiology and Sports Administration. I applied for a contract position here, 6 months, and now it's been two years. Since i do not have the geriatric backgroud this has been rather interesting. The old AD is still working within the facility. We are a retirement home, at the present time we have 180 residents. I work 30 hours a week and my volunteer coordinator works 30 hours a week. What does everyone else work? And how much assistance do you have in your department. Anyone would like to share ideas, i am always willing, to get some new ideas and to share some events that we have had here at the Resort

Hi Elish, Welcome... its nice to hear from Canada, I haven't added any "out of States" listings in the Job Board, What would be the proper terminology for listing Jobs for Canadian Members, What are some of the major cities, and "States" (what is the proper term for "State" in Canada) I like the term Volunteer Coordinator... thats a job position we could incorporate in the states.... I'm sure some facilities already have it, but it would be nice if it were more wide spread. Most of the facilities I have worked with have had 50-200 residents, with one Director and one maybe two Assistants, it is always long hours, understaffed, and hard work. Its the kinship between the residents and the Activity Staff that keep it worth your time.

Again, Welcome to the Board
