rhonda 0 Report Share Posted November 13, 2004 Hello there, I was just wondering if you, or anyone else has some new ideas for programs for alzheimer's clients (Stage 2, still wandering) on a locked unit. I guess I've run out of ideas and have been doing the same old...same old. Thanks Rhonda P.S I am new to this site also.
Guest Pat8231 Report Share Posted November 13, 2004 Hi Rhonda, I am no longer in the health field but was working in a locked down unit. I got a cart together with items that might jog a memory or two for the residents. On the cart was a teddy bear, ribbon, lace, coloring books, caryons, hair ribbons, a mirror, assorted books and I decorated it with bright colors. Only one thing - watch out for others who work there that they do not take the cart away. That happen to me and no one would own up to taking all of items off the cart and putting the cart in the kitchen. Needless to say I left the facility. They didn't like newcomers.
