Thanks! Hello, I am new at this. But I am looking for ideas for my project. I need 3 activities for High Function, Alzheimers, and In-room activity on Academy Awards. Can anyone help me. rworley 0 Report Share Posted October 18, 2008 On Veterans day our facility has about 3-4 VFW Veterans come in the home, and in the afternoon they have a small ceremony with about 25 of the Veterans who live there. They have a speech and the VFW members pay to have a luncheon for the Vetersans. They give the Veterans a chance to see the military uniforms they use to wear and make them feel like they are still important. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
kmp0065 0 Report Share Posted November 10, 2008 My local VFW has a luncheon for the veterans in my building. We secure transportation and actually take the veterans out of the building for a few hours to celebrate them and their service. We were also fortunate enough to have some community organizations donate various items for us to pass out to the veterans in the building.
