Large Bulletin Board Decorations

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone!

Our facility has one large bulletin board located near the nurses stations. I am responsible for changing it each month, and my administrator likes it decorated for the month. Any ideas? I'm struggling with this. We don't want it to look kiddish, but classy - but it's kinda the centerpiece of our facility! As you can tell - this is my least favorite thing to do!! HELP PLEASE!!

Do you have a theme for the next month for which you are decorating? A theme will be a guide for your board. for example, each month at our community we have a theme. June was fashion month and may was dancing. July is going to be travel. For May, we bought old records from a thrift store, fun music/dancing-themed fabric from hobby lobby, and got some 50's musical notes and records from party city. In June, our boards had small wire statues pinned to the board as well as a mannequin standing next to it. we found little straw hats at the dollar tree that were easy to pin. We have 3 cottages in our community, each with their own calendar, so we have to be creative and make each one different. July's board has a lot of dimensions with a passport book, maps, goggles, camera, etc. Adding little items that pop can make your board 3-dimensional and fun. The dollar tree, 99cent store, and hobby lobby all have great materials for a low price. If you want to make your July board all about Independence day, these stores have lots of patriotic flags, scrapbooking papers, stars, etc. depending on where the board is located, maybe you can add some string lights.

Have fun with it! I hope this helps.

Thank you! That does help! I've been at this a whopping 3 months now, and the bulletin board is the thing i look forward to the least! We are going with a patriotic theme for July and a lazy days of summer theme for august. My administrator likes for the bulletin boards to be themed toward the month - not a theme in particular. So, some months that's a struggle. Thank you again, I really appreciate the help!

for July you can have the theme be ....

"America the Beautiful" and have Americas favorite and historical places on it or famous Americans like our founding fathers?

"Fire works" lots and lots of pictures of Fire works? black and white and even paint them with glitter (those that are in black and white)

:D Good Luck

I have done bulletin boards several ways.

When I first started we used the bulletin board to put decorations on that have to do with the month.

I have done bulletin boards to distinguish resident of the month. With this I include pictures of them and their families, date of

birth ( Month and date only), birth place, advice they would give to the younger generation.

I also use the bulletin board to honor each department or volunteers

Hello, I don't know if you have Staples Office Supply where you are but, they do our calendars and the sell boarders and decorative items to place around the board. We also have a large bulletin board and it allways looks cute. Hope this helps.
