Lillian 0 Report Share Posted October 3, 2007 Recently while at RCC, my boss, who is the Director of Social Services and Activity Department, showed me a chart that I had not written a progress note on since 12/07. She handed me the chart and said, " Here, you need to get busy". I said "oh well, we are all behind", but I did back date progress notes for the month of 3/07 and 6/07, with every one present at the table. The next day I was fired for falisification of Documention. I was given an appeal form to fill out which I did a few days later after I had time to think. I'm not a new AD, I have been doing this since 1987. I wrote in my appeal that everyone involved in the MDS, have all gone back, and signed their name with the date the MDS was due, at times 3-6 months late. I was informed that is not falisification of a Document, since we are just signing the date that the MDS was done. Is this right? Does any one know, since I can't find it, it there a reg # that says how long we have to finish a activity assessment on a new resident? My facility says 14 days, but I can't find that in the state survey book. Any help would be appreciated. I do want my job back. I did have a meeting with her yesterday and she has a week to respond, if I don't like her decision, I then appeal to my Administrator, then he goes before my peers and two unit managers. Lillian I am too new to the field to know the answer to your question; I'm in PA and I think it's 7 days but I'm not sure. I wish you all the best. Good luck. bigchris 1 Report Share Posted October 21, 2007 When you back date the information, you arse is on the line. Your boss, should be ashamed to even suggest that!!!! Did he, or did you do it on your own???? If you did, we can talk. But as a consultant and an AD, I would rather see an honest mistake, than a cover up. If I was a surveyor, my first question would be " WHat else is falsified?" Sorry, but it is the truth. Bigchris
