Hi maybe since your in Ca anyway try something I did with sand. I took some and put it into containers and added food coloring to color the sand. Then layered it in little bottles. Take a straw and push down through the layers and it makes a design. Add some shell then seal it with hot glue and you have a beautiful item they will be proud of. Lee
