Hello Newbee: I have been an Activity Director forever and I always find the Tea Tasters Social w/warm scones, Ice Cream Social with all the toppings or a Wine and Cheese w/fruit and relaxing music all seem to be the big hits for Grandparents Day. One year we had our Senior Olympics the week of Grandparent's Day. I hired entertainment, food spread of nibblies, and presented their Gold, Bronze and Silver medals for a week of competitive challeges. LOL What a GREAT week that was! We had so much fun. Well, I hope I was able to help you out with an idea or two. Oh and for gifts I always make our centerpieces for the party in our Crafty Corner and raffle them free with each event.
