I am sorry you are so overwhelmed, but this profession is very rewarding when you focus on the residents and not on staff issues. I work solely in my activity dept, we have no volunteers and it can be very overwhelming. We have a new administrator with an army background and he hasn't had anything nice to say to me since he arrived. I have been working as an AD since last October but will not be certified until March (after I take the course). I am looking for other opportunities in the Portland OR area. Hope you can be encouraged, even if you leave the job you don't have to leave the residents. You could come in and volunteer and visit your friends there.
