Does anyone have a resident dog in their facility? What problems have you encountered? I have read somewhere (can't find it now I need it) that resident dogs in aged care facilities can suffer from depression. Any comments appreciated.

Hi, thanks for replies. I guess I was thinking more along the lines of cross infection via the sand - is this likely to be a problem??? We are setting up a sensory hut in garden (i.e. with a variety of plants with different textures, colours and fragrances, also garden theme art works + more (is in progress) and I'm thinking that of a sand tray to run fingers through or one to place feet in could be a pleasant experience for some residents, but another staff member felt it would be a problem due to cross infection.

Does anyone use sand activities (e.g. sensory, beach reminiscence boxes etc.), if so how have you addressed infection control? Thanks

:-D Does anyone use a specific humour assessment form? If so, where did you come across it or is it something you designed yourself? I have seen several referred to in literature but keep coming up blank when trying to find them. Many thanks.
