Lisa, There is a video you can watch on how to interview a new resident with the MDS 3.0, go to www.pickerinstitute.org click on vive video, this will give some idea as to how to approach it. I know the activities department is only anually and re-admssions. Section F is the activity section. There are several sections that could "trigger" the activities section if different approaches are done. Refer to section D- mood. Section N-medications will affect their participating in activities. Also refer to sections G1 and G3, section C 7-10, section B6. I am almst finished with the MEPAP 2 with Kathy Hughes and she let us know of some triggers that can affect the activities part of MDS 3.0. She said it is recommended to review the initial assesment first before you begin completing the MDS. Check with you local Activities Directors Association, they might be holding a seminar along this topic. Hopefully this will help you some. Kimmarie
