Hey All :hammer:

For those of you that work in Assisted Living or Independent Living, February is a great month to start a Red Hat Society in your facility !!!

I have one in mine and we have the best time with it,once a month we go out to lunch in our full RED HAT garb, my ladies love it!!

Our name is the Red Hot Grandmas.

There is an upcoming convention in Las Vegas, Nevada that I am trying to get approval from my administrator to take the ladies out to for one night.

The link is :

Hi Gina,

That is a fun idea. We had the local Red Hat Society come in and talk with our female residents. They sang, joked, laughed and shared snacks. It was wonderful.

The following week for crafts, our female group made their own Red Hats, in which we said, if the mood strikes them to wear it. Anyday can be a Red Hat Day!!!

Now we have the female gals saying, "its time for a Red Hat meeting" in which they discuss anything they feel like. Even the low functioning think its great, even if its only to be among the fun bunch.

My hats go off to these group of ladies (our residents). They were born in the era of prim and proper, but...at this point, will try anything just for a few good laughs.

We call our residents the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Sincerely,

Sandra (Act. Director of the Larimore Good Samaritan Society)

We too have started a Red Hat Society---The Precious Rubies. No we did not register our chapter. We have had several community chapters come in and spend the hour with our residents, we always have a special treat for the occasion. Activities we've had include a Hawaiian theme (January), special music, canning demonstration with a taste of home canned goods, crafts, a make-over. We always have a drawing for a simple door prize which the residents really like. This is definitely one of the best attended activities and they just love it!! Almost all of them have red hats and other garb they put on for the occasion. We even have a couple that get to wear pink hats (under 50) and the staff also don their hats for the occassion as well.

I have heard there is a Yellow Had Society for men but have not been able to find any information on it. Let me know if anyone else had heard of this.

Have a great day!!

HI! I'm the AD in SNF in Southern Oregon and we started our chapter this past spring. We are "The Red Hat Rosies'. We chose that name because we have one Rose Queen. 3 Rose Princesses and 2 Rosie the Riveters. We go out every other month, alternating withour men's Photography Club. We have a terrific time and really do enjoy ourselves. I'm new to this site and am looking forward to getting aquainted with other ADs.

 hello everyone. I am new here. Real nice place so far. We have a red hat society also. We are the Hemingford honeys. We usually go out once a month to eat and have meetings often. It really is a lot of fun.
