   Join our team as an Activity Assistant! A Bachelors degree is required in the field of Recreational Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, Gerontology or a related field of study. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to begin a career in this fast growing industry. Use your professional skills in the areas of therapeutic programming, cognitive assessments and facilitation of groups to make a difference in the life of a senior! You will utilize your expertise in providing daily activity programming support for residents participating in our award winning Memory Enrichment Programs.

 

  Position Responsibilities:

• Facilitate specialized activities for residents with cognitive disabilities.
• Ensure person-centered programming utilizing the structured day programming.
• Maintain consistent communication with supervisor, nurses and families.
• Coordinate and assist with the lunch and dinner meal program.
• Ensure a fun and safe environment for residents.
• Maintain documentation & complete cognitive assessments.
• Professional Requirements:
• A Bachelors degree is required (Recreational Therapy, Social Work, Gerontology or related field).
• One year of activity experience working directly with the elderly or individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• Intermediate level computer skills with Microsoft Office and Publisher.
• Proven ability to research topics for supplement programming materials.
• Demonstrated effective communication and facilitation skills.
• Ability to work flexible days/hours.
