Pennie 26 Report Share Posted September 9, 2015 I was reading NCCAP message board. A AD was asking how her resiednts could help other seniors out during the holiday season. When someone told her about this place. "Be A Santa To A Senior" What a great way for residents to sponsor other seniors. frankrasberry 1 Report Share Posted September 10, 2015 That's pretty cool, at the nursing home that I work in we have all the resident's dress up for Halloween in different costumes and have a heck of a party. The kids know where to come and get their treats. The residents love to scare the kids and hand out candy for that holiday
Codelle1 0 Report Share Posted September 17, 2015 I enjoyed visiting the link and watching the videos. At our facility the staff are allowed to pick a resident to be a secret Santa to. Some employees pick more then one. No one is ever left out. We also buy stocking stuffers for the residents. Local churches have children make Christmas cards for each resident. An eagles club brings in homemade cookies. Last year we had our first Christmas open house for families and residents. We had different stations for decorating cookies, watching Christmas movies, taken family photos and decorating a photo frame, and a snack buffet with a homemade hot chocolate bar with several toppings. It was a huge success, can't wait to do it again this year.
