Lorrie 0 Report Share Posted February 10, 2015 (edited) Hi Everyone! I want to get into the Healthcare field, as an employee. After spending a year volunteering, figuring out what I want to really do, I now know I definitely want to be an Activities Assistant. Jennifercummings92 0 Report Share Posted February 17, 2015 Hi! My name is Jennifer. I've worked in health care for 10 years, I've been employed at my facility for 3 years. I like to write, paint, and play guitar. My passion is animal rescue. I have 5 foster cats and 3 rescue dogs. My dogs are named Bear, Ratty, and Piper. I love working with animals and the elderly. I married my husband 3 years ago on my birthday which is in March. My dream is to have my own rescue one day. It's nice to meet you~
Lorrie 0 Author Report Share Posted March 5, 2015 (edited) Hi Jennifer, What state are you from? Did you have prior organizing/planning experience before becoming an activities worker? I'm finding it difficult to get into the field because every employer seems to want people who has experience in planning/organizing events (even to be an entry-level activities assistant!) How hard can it be? Edited March 15, 2015 by Lorrie

missy153 0 Report Share Posted March 28, 2015 Hi I'm Missy, I have been in health care since 97'. I worked as a CNA up until November 2012. I am married with 1 son. I currently work with retired Catholic Missionary Sisters. They are a joy to work with. I love doing activities with them. They are so creative and always appreciative. I also have 1 week left for MEPAP1 and am excited to begin part 2 in the fall. The inspiration from all of the other students is remarkable. I look forward to learning new and exciting techniques in Mepap2.
