sbrooks 0 Report Share Posted January 24, 2015 we are having trouble getting nursing to take concerns coming from the activity department seriously. has anyone gone through this before?
smrich11 0 Report Share Posted February 2, 2015 I did when I worked in assisted living. I think that the best way to work through this issue to to communicate with your administrator to express your issues to gather support from him or her. Then talk with the DON about the concerns. It is very likely that the DON isn't aware of how you feel or how some of the concerns are effecting your activities/residents.
marymorales 0 Report Share Posted April 20, 2015 In my facility nursing thinks activities is only for the activity director so when she is not here no activities get done.
pkrastanov 0 Report Share Posted May 6, 2015 (edited) I get ideas from nursing now and then. They appreciate good activities staff members, but get really irritated witt the lazy ones who do not bother to transport many residents, or cut programs short by starting late and quitting early. I can't blame them. Edited May 6, 2015 by pkrastanov
kim1 0 Report Share Posted May 10, 2015 Our nursing staff seems to think that Activities is a "soft" or "do-nothing" department. We need to somehow educated other departments about the importance of activities.
