Hi all! I am Phyllis, and I currently work as the Assistant to the Activity Director at Life care of West Bridgewater. I love my job, and am on my way to becoming AD certified. I should have it all wrapped up by September. I enjoy working with my AD to come up with great activity ideas, implementing them, and helping to foster a great team. Outside of work I enjoy playing piano, fitness, tennis, paddling, cooking, watching the markets, TED talks, TED-Ed, learning piano, and more.

I get ideas from nursing now and then. They appreciate good activities staff members, but get really irritated witt the lazy ones who do not bother to transport many residents, or cut programs short by starting late and quitting early. I can't blame them.

I too have an interest in poetry. i recently did an audit of my residents interests (a homework assignment for MEPAP1) and poetry came up. I might try a poetry Slam...and have plenty of poetry to read in the event none of the residents comes up with something. I'll try it once and see how it goes
