Pennie 26 Report Share Posted April 22, 2013 As posted by THCA website: As you have likely seen and heard on the news, a fertilizer plant in West, Texas, caught fire and exploded on Wednesday, April 17, leaving more than 100 people injured and many fire fighters missing. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people affected by this tragic event, including our member facility West Rest Haven. Thankfully, the nursing home was safely evacuated ( use this link: Uhttp://www.usatoday.com/videos/news/2013/04/18/2093035/) and the residents who were evacuated are being cared for in eight nearby nursing facilities. There is a need for clothing for almost 140 residents. All of the residents got out with only the clothes on their backs. Many other people in the area were injured and need your help. Authorities are reporting that local hospitals are well staffed and equipped to handle the patients at this time, but they need blood donations.
