kyarborogh 0 Report Share Posted January 14, 2013 Hi my name is Kelly I am from Ohio. I work in a long term facility where we have both geratrics and bariatric residents, which can sometimes be difficult to plan activities. But I love my job, I just passed the 1 year mark and plan on staying for a long time. I would love to hear any ideas that you have concerns activities. PamB 0 Report Share Posted January 15, 2013 Hi Kelly! My name is Pam and I work in LTC in NC. I have been working as an activities director a little less than a year. I love it. It is challenging and rewarding. I have been through MEPAP I and just getting ready to finish up MEPAP II. I am not sure where I am going from here. After I get certified I would like to do more studies in fitness for seniors and in memory care. I probably should just concentrate on passing the test for now though. Pennie ////////////// Alumni » Forums » Social forum » Passed The NCCAP Exam!!!!! Passed The NCCAP Exam!!!!! by Janine Lemke - Wednesday, January 30, 2013, 05:46 AM Hey All! Just wanted to share my great news with everyone at Activity Director...I took the NCCAP exam yesterday morning and PASSED!!!! When Kathy tells us, "You can do this." BELIEVE HER!!! The exam is straight forward and everything on it, was taught to us! No surprises! And as I am still "just" an Activity Assistant, and I know many of you that were in my class are already Directors, you probably know this information much more than I did. You use it every day, you have been or are being taught the professional names of the processes...that's it! You know your stuff! So, how about we add some more names to the "I took it and passed" group???? The anticipation is WAY worse than the actual exam! Believe me, my family had to deal with my "anticipation" for 2 weeks prior to the exam. (Bless their hearts <3 ) NCCAP and Kathy give you all the information that you need to study or "bone up" on. Use that info...set your test date...AND TAKE IT!!!! YOU CAN REALLY DO THIS!!!! Good luck to everyone...consider me one of your cheerleaders!!! Janine Lemke, "ADC" (woot! woot!)
