Pickles 0 Report Share Posted January 26, 2011 What types of staff does an Adult Day Care normally have? Is the pay for an AD in a day care comparable to and AD in a live-in facility? Joy First you have to know what the licensing requirements are to know the types of staffing needed for the daycare. In Tennessee the ratio is 8:1, but because we work mostly with Alzheimer's disease our ratio has to be 4:1. We have an executive director, assistant director, parttime office assistance, and care compnaions who work directly in the program with participants; the number of care companions depends upon who is in the program and what their specific needs are. Depending on where you live I would think that pay could vary or be very much the same, however I would think that being a AD in an adult day program could be much easier than working in a live-in facility. Good luck!
msoto 0 Report Share Posted December 9, 2015 In our adult day.....we only have 2 staff......myself, the activities assistant and I am currently taking classes to become Director, and another activities assistant...she is not qualified for director/certified recreation specialist, but she has the title. That is all the staff we have to do activities for 269 residents (of course, they don't come into the center all at the same time). As far as pay....we don't make that much...for Activity Director, I guess it depends on your state regulations and your facility...it can vary...but I believe an average is 40,000 year. angelawattstexas 1 Report Share Posted May 8, 2016 At my facility I am the Activities Coordinator and I have 3 activities assistants under me that run activities. We have 3 levels of cognitive abilities and I usually work with the one on one. My pay is greatly higher than the Activities assistant because of the work I do. Each facility is different.
