Infection Control

Our infection control person states we have to wash every bingo card and all the chips after each game.

This is not as easy as it sounds, there are times the chips are not dryed enough and they create moisture in the bags, oh yea and we are putting them back in the bags they were in before we washed them. Our chips are becoming faded our cards wearing thin. We have resident that use special chips they can pic up and some use regular plastic poker chips, we also have the cardboard cards with the sliders boy, those are not looking so great after being wiped down twice a week with sanitizer.

How are others cleaning bingo supplies?

We have thought of bingo daubers the ink ones but many of our residents can not hold them. Our facility has long term and short term residents so to have resident keep there own chips wouldn't work, for we would constantly be buying more chips.

Why couldn't you print bingo cards and laminate them, easy to wipe clean as for the chips couldn't you just soak them in hot soapy water or bleach and buy a tupperware container and soak that also let everything air dry on a towel overnight??? :P

I would be very upset if that happened in my facility. My bingo cards are cardboard shutter cards, and they cost about $70.00 for 25 cards.

Most of my Residents have thier name on thier cards and play with the same cards every time we play.

Nursing would be buying me some new cards.
