AmeiaManning 0 Report Share Posted February 23, 2010 As an activity in my community(facility) I offer cooking prep....... A few of the things we do are #1 Crazy Cookies First I form an assembly line Have residents choose a type of cookie to be backed in oreder for each resident to have hands on i let someone open the cookie mix and pour it in a bowl, then pass it to the next person, that person adds the ingredients, the next person does the mixing, when batter is finished each resident spoons the batter onto the cookie sheet to be baked.........Once baking is done and cookies are cool we each decorate our cookies silly ways. We cover them with icing, add sprinkles, little candy pieces, etc. Residents really have a blast making these cookies i like to sometimes reward the silliest cookie with some kind of small gift..... Everyone should try this. They are reminded of the past and sometimes share stories of when they would bake for their families. #2 Individual Banana Pudding You will need small clear cups, banana flavored pudding, cut up bananas, nilla wafers, whipped cream Start by giving each resident some of all ingredients Instruct them to place nilla wafers in bottom of cup, next some pudding, some cut up banana, then more wafer cookies, more pudding, more banana then top with whipped cream I like to stick wafer cookies around the side of the cup. these make a really tasty snack they really enjoy putting these together. aRBeRec 0 Report Share Posted February 23, 2010 We do something similar with baked potatoes.... the kitchen will bake them and we offer all the toppings and pass them around like butter, sour cream, scallions, cheese, and bacon bits.
