rubbettalace 0 Report Share Posted November 8, 2008 Hi, I am new with activities. I work in an assisted living home with about 140 residents. This is my first time making an activity calender. Is there any sites that I can go to, to find sample calenders of things to do. How do you suggest I get started. Thanks
kmp0065 0 Report Share Posted November 10, 2008 My first recommendation would be to see if the person before you had a calendar that you could follow. That way you could at least see what kinds of activities the residents are accustomed to doing. Another suggestion would be to talk to different residents to see what kinds of activities they enjoy doing and would like to see incorporated into the new calendar. If you search on the Internet, you can find a lot of really interesting activities for residential seniors. Good luck with your new job! Pennie 26 Report Share Posted November 12, 2008 Hi .. there is a sample calendar on the homepage under Downloads. Http://www.activitydirector.net Its a Microsoft word document .. its a 2006 halloween calendar template from our subscription site (activitydirector.com) but you can download it and edit it to fit your facility. If you dont have Microsoft word.. go to OpenOffice.org and download their free Office Suite.. New 3.0 is available and it is the hottest thing on the internet as far as a Microsoft replacement goes.. We encourage all of our members and students to use it if they need a great Calendar and Newsletter editor. have fun, Pennie
