I just want everyone to know that my activity department sponsored a dog show last Saturday for a fundraiser for the Alzheimer Memory walk and it was a huge success. fleamarket 0 Author Report Share Posted September 25, 2008 I am from Bryan, Ohio. I am in the corner of Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. As for the dog show, we put up a tent in the front yard of our facility. We advertised it in the local newspaper. We had different categories for the dog show. We had a food tent which my volunteers ran and all proceeds from that went to the resident activity fund. We charged $2 for each category that people entered their dog in such as prettiest, best dressed, etc. You can have whatever categories you want. We gave out prizes to the top two enteries of each cathegory. It was lots of fun and the money from the dog show we contributed to the Alzheimer's Association for the memory walk. How long did it take to prep for this, with running the ad and all? I am planning a holiday open house for the first year ever and looking at about a month lead time to advertise and spread the word.
