Hello fellow - overwhelmed...overworked...underpaid...but overjoyed...truly fulfilled...Activity Directors who go home each day with a smile in your heart because you know you made a sweet difference in a precious little senior's life today. If it happens to be their last day on this earth...you spent it with them...attempting to make them smile and trying to give them something to help keep the blues away. Now I ask you....how do you improve on that?? My name is Shirley...I've been Dir. Of Social Activities in a lovely facility outside of Houston for three years. I love this work. I tought school before I got into this field, but this is the most fulfilling. Hope to share some good things with you. I've enjoyed this link since I was certified and it's been very useful.

Shirley :-) :-)

Welcome to the board Shirley. How long have you been in this field? What is the town you work in? I also live in a small town not far from Conroe, Woodlands etc.

There is a monthly meeting in Houston for AD's, it is free, includes lunch, CEU's, guest speakers and more. If you want more info and are close enough to Houston let me know. You will find lots of help and support on the board. Pennie
