Here are some ideas for www.members.activitydirector.com Cinco de Mayo Party Favors Description : -Create these great Cinco de Mayo party favors for your residents and family members Materials : # Polaroid camera # large sombrero # Mexican style blanket # fiesta stickers # markers Instructions : # As the residents and family members enter the Cinco de Mayo party, take his/her picture with a giant sombrero on his/her head and a Mexican style blanket throw over their shoulder. # Use a Polaroid camera. # Get some cute fiesta style stickers and ask a volunteer to write the name of the resident or family member on the picture and decorate with the stickers. Mexican Mothers Day(May) Description : -Try combining your Mother's Day Party with Cinco de Mayo here is how! Materials : # Brown paper bags # Paint (red, white, and green) Instructions : # Try combining Cinco de Mayo with Mother's Day for all your Hispanic residents! # Have a Mexican Mother's Day Luncheon for all your Hispanic moms on Mother's Day (May 10th). # On your invitations tell the Moms to dress in cultural garb, if they have it. # Make place mats out of brown paper bags or butcher paper, painted with brightly colored stripes or designs. # To decorate the room, use several brightly colored tissue paper flowers in vases on each table. # Have a local Mexican restaurant cater or serve tacos, chips, queso, and all the fixings. # Have the attending residents discuss the differences between how they celebrate Mother's Day and how we do here in the U.S. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

We are having some local kids make Spanish flowers.... tissue paper and pipe cleaners is all you need! and they will come and pass them out! There is a local salsa and florico dancing team that will come and dance for us they are city sponsored so will do it for free!
