asandlin 0 Report Share Posted October 27, 2006 (edited) I have a very simple Activity In service/ Orientation Guide I made for my center if you would like I could e-mail it to you and you will have some guidance. Basically it is about making sure the hole center acts as a community and everyone is involved in activities from the administrator to the housekeeping department because it is everyone's responsibility, to enforce that, one person from each discipline is scheduled on the calendar each month to have an activity with the residents. To break the ice before the orientation we play some team building exercises, and then of course I remind everyone why we are supposed to be here, which is to maintain and improve the quality of our residents lifes. Guest Guest Report Share Posted October 29, 2006 I don't have an Orientation Form, but check w/ the person in charge of doing Orientation. I always speak during the Orientation Program for new staff. I take w/ me a copy of the calendar & go over it w/ new staff, explain how important activities is to al of the res. & that everyone needs to be involved by encouraging res, ass;t to & from them, helping out by doing them (in groups or 1:1's) etc. I also show them the system that we have in place i.e. a calendar in ever res. rm w/ hi-lighted act. that the res. enjoys &/or CP to attend. Also I discuss the Res. Council w/ them as well as Res. Rights. Maybe using these ideals you can make up a simply form of what you discuss w/ new hires & attach a copy of the calendar etc. to use for your class.
