debber 0 Report Share Posted April 20, 2004 Hi everyone! Maybe my first question should be.. can an activity assistant be a part of this forum?? I hope!! After all, my job is to help make yours easier, right?? At least , I think that's how it should work.. :-D Anyway, I've been looking at the boards for a little while now, and find them to be really informative and fun to navigate.. Best one I've seen for real Q & A with responses that make good sense!! So, here's one for you all.. Our little ol' town has a summertime carnival each year.. You know the type... great junk food, rides, games, fireworks, etc., etc. We ran a booth last year and sold crafts and baked goods.. did all right, but this year we are planning to take a different approach- sell novelty items - mostly fun stuff for kids, like glow necklaces, flashing light jewelry- trinkets like that.. We want to run a game, too- so I'm wondering if anyone can suggest a type of game that you've had success with?? We will be running it for 4 days, and it will be a major fundraiser.. Thanks!! gina 2 Report Share Posted April 20, 2004 Hi Debber, Welcome to the site! :-) I have a great idea for your carnival, How about a balloon pop booth? All you need is blown up balloons with a piece of paper in the balloon with a prize on it,example:a small stuffed animal, tattoos, stickers, candy, and the larger prize could be c.ds,or posters.First off get a large piece of wood and attach the balloons with a staple gun(on the tied part of the balloon)to the wood, then have the "customers"get three darts for$.50-$1.00,then let them try to pop the balloons,if they pop it look inside to see what they won.Or try a Ping Pong toss:get small glass dishes, ashtrays or jars and put them all very close to each other and let "customers"try to throw the ping pong ball into the dishes,if they do they get a prize.(this game is fun because the balls bounce off the glasses .) Or if funds are very tight, paint a bunch of soda cans, let dry.then add a tennis ball and instant carnival game-put four cans on the bottom row, three on top of that row, then two cans on top of that and one on the very top,let "customers"try to knock off all the cans. I hope these help. :-) gina

Kerrie 0 Report Share Posted April 23, 2004 Thanks Kermie & Underdog. That was my second good laugh at work today. :-) Add that to the smaller ones I've had here and the ones naturally inspired by my kids at home and I've had a great day!
