Guest Guest_wonytineres Report Share Posted June 21, 2006 Question for all of you... what time frame do you use at your facilities in completing your annual/quarterly progress notes? Do you complete the MDS then write you progress note or do you write the progress note then complete the MDS? Also, how many wait to write the progress note until after the quarterly/annual care conference is held? Thanks in advance for your response. Diana 0 Report Share Posted June 21, 2006 It depends on my week. I usually do the MDS then my progress note, but if it is busy, then I just do the MDS and write my progress note during Care Plans. If it is a PPS assessment, then I usually need my progress note for verification of the information submitted.
Guest JodyB Report Share Posted June 21, 2006 Our MDS coordinator sets up all the MDS' including initials, quarterlies, annuals, changeof status, and the NOA's as well as Return from Hosipital. It is based a lot on the payment system the resident is doing. With very specific dates. We have to do our MDS before we can do the documentation (Obviously) and the documentation needs to be done prior to the care plan date. According to the government, they really don't care how busy we are, we need to stay in compliance with time frames and due dates. It's very confusing to me and I very much depend upon the MDS coordinator.
