gina 2 Report Share Posted April 1, 2004 :hammer: Spring has sprung party Since spring is here, why not have a party. Have your party outdoors,if weather permits. Send each resident an invitation with a colorful flower on the front and have it say "Spring has Sprung,Come have some fun"!! For your activity you could transfers small plants into painted terra cotta pots,or you could decorate inexpensive plastic gardening visors with fabric paint and glitter.Give each resident a visor to decorate anyway they want. For a snack, serve this easy to make cake. You could even make it during your party with your residents help. Sunny Sunflower Cake: 1 baked 9-inch round cake(ask your dietary dept. to make before hand for you) 16 Twinkies 1 tub yellow frosting about 10-15 Hersheys Kisses Place the twinkies along the outer edge of the round cake(like the petals) frost the whole cake and petals with the yellow frosting.Dot the center of the cake with the kisses to look like the "seeds". While your residents are eating, play this game.Write Springtime on a chalkboard. Have your residents come up with different words out of that word. examples:ring, tie, prime, sing, mine, pit, etc. Have fun! :-) gina
Stacy 0 Report Share Posted April 2, 2004 Another Recipe is Dirt Cups - 2 cups of cold Milk 1 Package (4 serving size) Jello-Instant Pudding (Chocolate Flavor) 3 1/2 cups (8 ounce container) Cool Whip whipped topping, thawed 1 package (16 ounces) oreos (crused Gummy Worms Pout the milk into the mixing bowl and add the pudding mix. Beat with the wire whisk until well blended (about 2 min). Let pudding stand for five minutes. Stir whipped topping and 1/2 of the crushed cookies into the pudding (very gently) with rubber scraper until mixture is all the same color. Place about 1 tablespoon of the remaing crushed cookies into the bottom of each cup. FIll cups about 3/4 full with pudding mixture. Top each cup with the rest of the crused cookies. Add gummy worms and "insects" to decorate. Chill for 1 hour. This will make about 8-10 muffin cups, or one pie. You could also substitute vanilla pudding.
