  1. hiya that situation sounds all to familiar, i found that reminiscing with the resident helped with my situation, doing a social history book helped also, although it was some what distorted it did help, old photos and genuine tlc worked for me, but i dont think anti depressants would help, unless they are completely off meds for alzheimer's as the two dont mix atall well. and also it may just be a stage in her illness. also doll therapy. sorry if that seemd a bit all over the place, read it mid work >.<

    hiya

hiya all, im new ,, ive just become a activities co-ordinator on my dementia and alzheimer's unit, it is a single person job, so im all by my lonesome, ive been a carer of e.m.i units for 2 years now, so i know the illnesses well, which will help im sure!! but the management are not giving me any official training for a few months and are less than supportive, and i am concerned about running out of ideas. any ideas guys and girls?? thanks p.s i should of said im only 19 so many staff are also bitter about me getting the promotion, even though i work my bum off, so its not like im even going to get help from them, and we have a huge home, but my specific unit (due to illnesses) holds 15 residents all at various stages of the desease.
