Recently while at RCC, my boss, who is the Director of Social Services and Activity Department, showed me a chart that I had not written a progress note on since 12/07. She handed me the chart and said, " Here, you need to get busy".
I said "oh well, we are all behind", but I did back date progress notes for the month of 3/07 and 6/07, with every one present at the table.
The next day I was fired for falisification of Documention. I was given an appeal form to fill out which I did a few days later after I had time to think. I'm not a new AD, I have been doing this since 1987.
I wrote in my appeal that everyone involved in the MDS, have all gone back, and signed their name with the date the MDS was due, at times 3-6 months late. I was informed that is not falisification of a Document, since we are just signing the date that the MDS was done. Is this right?
Does any one know, since I can't find it, it there a reg # that says how long we have to finish a activity assessment on a new resident? My facility says 14 days, but I can't find that in the state survey book.
Any help would be appreciated. I do want my job back.
I did have a meeting with her yesterday and she has a week to respond, if I don't like her decision, I then appeal to my Administrator, then he goes before my peers and two unit managers.
